Captain Michele Webb will retire from the Mansfield Police Department on August 6.

Capt. Webb was appointed to the department on March 3, 1989, promoted to sergeant on March 21, 1992, to lieutenant on July 14, 2000 and on Feb. 14, 2005, she was appointed to captain.

For the last 5 1/2 years, Capt. Webb has been the Operations Commander of the Special Operations Bureau, overseeing the Detective Division, Special Investigative Section and the Crime Lab.

She has received numerous special commendation awards, letters of recognition, and letters of appreciation from citizens and fellow law enforcement personnel.
